Kawaii Monster Land

Kawaii Monster Cafe turns into a theme park

The iconic Kawaii Monster Cafe located on Takeshita Street closed its doors in 2021 due to the effects of the pandemic, but the KMC Instagram has been thriving with promotional videos and KMC merchendise is sold at the 6% DOKIDOKI shop!

The cafe's concept, mascots and interior was designed by Artist and founder of 6% doki, Sebastian Masuda and opened in 2015. The concept was overwhelmingly sweet with a cake carosel and everything was decorated with candy land patterns and art from the ceiling to the floor.

KMC has collaborated with PAC-MAN and Hello Kitty!

The closing of the beloved cafe left a kawaii shaped hole in Takeshita Street for both tourists and KMC fans alike, so when on August 18th, the Kawaii Monster Land account posted an animated teaser on their instagram @kawaiimonsterland, the community went wild with excitment!

Genda GiGO and ASOBISYSTEM co are working together on Kawaii Monster Land, which will be a theme park on Takeshita Street and only a 2 minute walk from the train station! Takeshita Street in Harajuku is a city district of tokyo in which there isn't enough space for a traditional western style theme park, so I predict it will be a inclosed park (think KaibaLand from Yugioh season 0). The estimated size will be over 4,000 square feet. There will be rides, food, games, and shows. Not much is known at this point.

With these two companies working together, we can't wait to see what they will come up with! The Park is set to open in Winter 2025 which is so soon despite there being such limited information currently available. We will post updates on our website so be sure to look out for more developments!
